More about me.

A few of my amazing clients!

After a picture is sent into the wild it takes on a life of its own.

From book covers to surfboards each project takes on a new life when it is finished. Seeing an image you made out in the world is always a thrill. Here are a few examples of illustrations in the context of their publications or products.

Process. Process. Process.

From the first email to the final invoice.

Good communication and collaborative creation are present in every step.

The journey from tiny thumbnail to polished final illustration looks something like this.

What to expect

Bright Ideas.

Here are examples of different concepts for an illustration sent to the client to choose, combine, or refine. The is when the composition, characters and storytelling is developed and approved. Typically the first round of sketches is 3 - 5 concepts per illustration.

Getting the story just right.

In a typical project the client will be asked for notes and approval after the sketch stage. Client approval is needed again for any color revisions after it has been tightened up.

Clean Finish.

Digital inking the approved sketch tightens up the drawing and gets the linework ready for color, texture and a final polish.
